Someone went to the office. When they put a password/username on the server, it came right back to the log-on screen. They rebooted, every boot test, RAID, ect. passed, but then it said ntldr is missing. No disks in the floppy. Any help wqould be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I keep getting the error 'NTLDR missing' when I try to boot Windows XP. I have tried FIXMBR and FIXBOOT from the console, but still no luck. I have also tried copying the files from the XP disc. If I have the XP disc in the cd drive, it gives the usual, 'Press any key to boot from cd'(or whatever it says!

NTLDR missing
The first went fine, but on this one, after doing the files copy and rebooting, it comes up with an error message saying "NTLDR is missing". I can still reboot back into the 2000 system, and the NTLDR file is clearly present in the root directory. I have retried several times to no avail.

Restarted, and got the message : "NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart" I ran the repair facility by booting from the XP Pro disk. I didn't understand what i was doing, so left that well alone. However, by sheer fluke, i re-started the PC, with CD in drive, and the OS loaded without problem.
